What is First Robotics Competition?
The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school competition where teams design, build, and program industrial-size robots to compete in a themed game. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get, combining the excitement of a sport with the rigors of science and technology to inspire the next generation of innovators.

The MechaLions proudly represent Stratford Preparatory as its founding FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team, combining the intensity of competitive sports with the rigor of engineering. Guided by teamwork, creativity, and resilience, we are committed to advancing our technical expertise and growing as leaders who exemplify Gracious Professionalism®. Our mission is not only to compete but also to inspire our community to explore STEM and discover the power of engineering to shape a better future.

Business
Our Business division spearheads the team’s strategic operations, outreach, and long-term sustainability. We cultivate key partnerships to secure critical resources—such as a $5,000 grant to launch five new FLL teams—and develop community-focused initiatives that ensure our team’s growth and positive impact well beyond the competition field.
